At Hawkley Hall High school, your child’s safety and wellbeing is very important to us. Our students regularly receive guidance and support in school about how to keep themselves safe but we recognise that sometimes, as parents and carers, you may also wish to seek advice or support regarding an issue which is affecting your child. This section of our school website will signpost you to resources and information that you may find helpful on a range of issues that affect our young people.
If you need advice or support regarding any safeguarding concerns relating to your child, please ring the school office and a member of the safeguarding team will contact as soon as they are available.

Our school is part of Operation Encompass, a national safeguarding partnership between schools and the police. The aim is to ensure that children who may have been affected by a domestic abuse incident receive timely and appropriate support in school. Following a police-attended domestic abuse incident, the school may receive information before the next school day so that we can provide support, care and understanding for the child where needed. For more information about Operation Encompass, please visit: https://www.operationencompass.org/.
We work closely with families and partner agencies to ensure that children receive the right support at the right time. The Right Support at the Right Time is Wigan’s safeguarding framework, helping professionals identify needs early, provide appropriate support, and ensure children and families receive the help they need as soon as possible. Further information can be found on the Wigan Safeguarding Children’s Partnership website: https://wigansafeguardingchildren.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/The-Right-Support-at-the-Right-Time-Wigans-Safeguarding-Continuum.pdf
